Job Summary
The Collections Officer will manage an assigned portfolio of past-due and non-performing loans, improve recoveries and document suitable return-to-performance or exit strategies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect and recover overdue balances and minimise impairment losses.
- Recommend restructuring, recovery or exit strategies for assigned accounts.
- Issue appropriate customer communications, demand letters and notices.
- Maintain accurate asset classifications, reports and recovery records.
- Work with internal teams and external recovery partners while following policy.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
- A professional qualification in banking, risk management or law is an advantage.
- At least two years in banking or financial services, including one year in recoveries or remedial management.
- Strong communication, customer management, reporting and regulatory-compliance skills.
