Job Summary
The officer will generate new logistics and freight-forwarding business, grow existing accounts, maintain customer relationships and coordinate with operational teams to resolve client needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop business opportunities and maintain a strong sales pipeline and customer database.
- Understand prospects’ logistics needs, recommend services and prepare and follow up quotations and proposals.
- Negotiate commercial terms within approved limits and achieve sales targets.
- Grow and retain accounts through cross-selling, upselling and relationship management.
- Coordinate shipment requirements with operations, transport, warehousing and documentation teams.
- Resolve complaints, monitor market trends and maintain accurate sales and customer records.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Two to three years of relevant experience; the advert classifies the role as mid-level.
- Strong sales and business-development skills.
- Knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding, clearing, customs and transportation processes.
- Excellent customer-service, negotiation, communication and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to prepare commercial quotations and coordinate internal and external partners.
- Strong organisation, record-keeping, problem-solving and target-delivery ability.
