Job Summary
The GIS Officer will execute frontline GIS and automated mapping/facilities-management work, including spatial data acquisition, analysis, integrity control and production of high-quality maps.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Acquire and prepare primary GIS data and support development of GIS databases and layers.
- Administer, troubleshoot and maintain GIS applications, databases, systems and tools.
- Maintain professional relationships with software vendors and supervise external GIS service providers.
- Work with partner project teams to gather GIS data for joint projects.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with honours in Geography, Information Management Systems, Surveying or a related field.
- At least four years of direct GIS data collection, evaluation and analysis experience.
- Knowledge of geospatial intelligence, visualisation, remote sensing, geo-mapping and data modelling.
- Experience with GIS data capture and analysis using airborne imagery and satellite data.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, Python or related proprietary data tools.
- Project-planning, information-management, presentation, coordination and collaboration skills.
