Job Summary
Water Mission seeks an experienced accountant to process transactions, complete reconciliations, support financial reporting and strengthen compliance across its Uganda operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and process payment requests, vendor bills, staff advances and journal entries.
- Prepare bank, cash, mobile-money, vendor and staff-advance reconciliations.
- Support month-end closing, project reporting, payroll, taxes and statutory submissions.
- Maintain complete financial records and assist internal and external audits.
- Help programme teams follow finance policies, donor rules and internal controls.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA(U) or an equivalent recognised certification.
- At least three years of financial-management experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax compliance, Excel and financial systems.
- Fluent English, high integrity and alignment with Water Mission’s Christian mission and values.
