Job Purpose
The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing customer payments for vehicle services and spare parts while delivering excellent front-desk customer service. As the final point of contact, the role ensures accurate financial close-out of repair orders, clear communication of charges, and a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Processing
- Receive and process customer payments including cash, cards, and cheques.
- Issue receipts and invoices accurately for services and spare parts.
- Process refunds and adjustments for returned parts or corrected invoices.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the system.
Financial Reconciliation & Controls
- Balance cash drawers and POS reports at the end of each shift or day.
- Prepare daily cash summaries and support bank deposit processes.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity in all financial transactions.
Administrative & System Support
- File repair orders, invoices, and payment records systematically.
- Perform basic data entry and update customer and transaction records.
- Assist with office supply management and general clerical tasks.
- Handle related paperwork such as rental vehicle documentation where applicable.
System & Process Management
- Use workshop or dealership management systems to post payments, apply discounts or warranties, and close repair orders.
- Follow internal procedures for billing, refunds, and financial controls.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Minimum of a High School Diploma in any related field.
- Previous experience as a cashier is an added advantage.
- Experience using POS systems or basic accounting / dealership software is desirable.
- Strong numerical and cash-handling skills
